Then, your current house goes on the market and when you get an offer, the settlement date should match the date of the new house you are purchasing. On the day of settlement, you go to closing on your old house first and then take those proceeds to buy the new house. 2-If you have the financial ability or you get a bridge loan, you can settle on your new house first and move into or fix up your new house.
